How To Join

Picture
When you submit your new joiner request please tell us a little about yourself, and your cycling experience.
What are you looking for from BellaVelo? What type of bike are you riding? Have you been in a club before?

Our New Joiners sessions are in Richmond Park, led by an experienced cyclist. It’s a relaxed ride to talk about group cycling, road etiquette and signalling. We finish with an opportunity for coffee and questions.

We welcome riders with broad experience, but we do ask that you are using a dropped handlebar road or gravel bike and are willing to move towards cleats, if you aren’t already. Our minimum speed group is 22kph average, over routes ranging from 50-100+km.

We may give feedback to participants after the ride, and advise if you need to be a little quicker to comfortably join our group rides.

Taster sessions

After you have attended our New Joiner session you may go on one group ride before deciding whether or not BellaVelo is the club for you. After this you should take out a subscription which can be paid monthly or annually.

Membership

Currently costs £36 per annum and is via direct debit. All funds raised by the club are spent on activities which will benefit all members.

Insurance

BellaVelo recommends that all members have cycling insurance, which is widely available from a range of groups, including British Cycling.   Your policy should provide personal insurance for injury, damage to your bike, or to someone else’s property. It must include Third Party Liability cover and Legal Support.   BellaVelo is affiliated with British Cycling.

New to riding?

If you are a novice with little riding experience, please contact HSBC Breeze rides or your local authority ride champion who can help you with the basic skills you need to get going. If you prefer to make a private arrangement, please contact cycle coach Fiona Tisch at CyclewithMe.
